About the Guide

The goal of The ACP Depression Care Guide is to provide concise, practical information, strategies, and tools to enable busy clinicians to reduce the treatment gaps that exist for depression care in a manner tailored to their own practice settings. The Care Guide, an evidence-based authoritative resource created by a committee of 13 leading specialists in depression, has been organized to help you efficiently access information on aspects of patient care that are most important to you, whether you are an internist, family practitioner, psychiatrist, psychologist, physician assistant, nurse practitioner, or nurse. After reading the Care Guide, you can answer 40 multiple-choice questions, potentially qualifying for the following:

  • As many as 6 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ available until Dec. 15, 2014 if you are an internist, family practitioner, or psychiatrist
  • As many as 6 hours of AAPA Category 1 CME credit approved by the Physician Assistant Review Panel until Dec. 15, 2013, if you are a physician assistant
  • Continuing education that will be available until Dec. 15, 2013 if you are a psychologist (Consult with your local healthcare system, institution, or licensing board to determine if this course can be used to earn continuing education credit. • As many as 6 continuing education contact hours approved by the Pennsylvania State Nurses Association and available until Dec. 15, 2013 if you are a registered nurse or nurse practitioner (This approval does not apply in Iowa and California.)

To provide a broad base of learning and practice-improvement opportunities, the authoring committee has designed the multiple-choice questions to test you on 35 core learning objectives and five objectives specific to each of the three types of credit described above.
